Exam P Overview
Its a computer-based exam that measures your ability to master probability concepts in assessing financial risk.
3-hour long exam comprises 30 multiple-choice questions, and assumes basic knowledge of calculus and insurance risk management. Exam P focuses on three core topics: General Probabilities, Univariate Random Variables, and Multivariate Random Variables.
Each topic has several learning objectives around which the exam is centered, giving you a comprehensive understanding of probability concepts used in the financial industry

Exam FM Overview
Exam FM is a computer-based exam that measures your proficiency in financial mathematics used in valuing financial instruments.
30 multiple-choice questions and a 3-hour duration, this exam is a vital step towards mastering rudimentary aspects of financial mathematics.
Exam FM concentrates on eight core topics, ensuring you gain a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Each topic has several learning objectives, allowing you to focus on mastering the concepts necessary to succeed. These topics include valuing bonds, determining the price of interest rate swaps, and estimating the yield of an investment.

Exam FAM Overview
FAM Exam helps you develop the fundamental actuarial mathematics knowledge required for success in the insurance industry. The exam is offered via computer-based testing and is 3.5 hours long, consisting of 40 multiple-choice questions. During the transition period, FAM exam is also offered in two parts, FAM-L and FAM-S, with each being 1.75 hours long and containing 20 multiple-choice questions.
Candidates with transition credit for FAM-L or FAM-S must pass the other during the transition period, or they will be required to pass the full FAM exam at a later date. Candidates without FAM-L or FAM-S credit must take the full FAM exam and will pass or fail the exam in its entirety.
The short-term section of the exam will introduce candidates to modeling and important actuarial methods used in modeling. It also covers foundational principles of ratemaking and reserving for short-term coverages. A thorough understanding of calculus, probability (as covered in Exam P), and mathematical statistics (as covered in VEE Mathematical Statistics) is required.
The long-term section of the exam develops the candidate’s knowledge of the theoretical basis of contingent payment models and their application to insurance and other financial risks. A thorough understanding of calculus, probability (as covered in Exam P), mathematical statistics (as covered in VEE Mathematical Statistics), and interest theory (as covered in Exam FM) is required.
